Toolies Benchtops is proud to have a partnership with Bamboo Australia, an Australian owned Bamboo farm in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Having survived 25 years of business, drought, arctic frosts, floods and other extremes, the farm is still recognized as Australia’s leading source of bamboo information or the supply of poles and manufactured bamboo such as bench tops and flooring.
To cater for an increase in the demand for fabricated kitchens and furniture, Bamboo Australia has reached an agreement with Toolies to act as a fabricator to supply precision cut panels to customer specifications.
“Peerless Bamboo” Laminated Ply Sheets
A “Peerless Bamboo” ply bench top is a very high quality, environmentally friendly alternative to a traditional timber, synthetic or granite material. They are now accepted by Kitchen & Furniture manufacturers and the Shop Fitting industry. Bamboo Australia is the owner of the internationally registered “Peerless Bamboo” trademark.
Coffee – The coffee colour is achieved by steaming the bamboo strips that caramelises the sugar in the fibre.
Natural – The natural (blonde colour) is the result of the strips being boiled in bleach.
Moso – New Moso (strand woven) solid bamboo benchtop slabs arriving next month!
Stains – Peerless bamboo bench tops can be stained if required. So far only the coffee colour has been successfully stained black! Prior to applying other colours please ask for a sample board for testing.
Coating – Please discuss your desired finish with Toolies and we’ll recommend the best coating for your needs.
Our superior quality “Peerless Bamboo” ply bench tops come in two sizes:
- 2440 x 1220 mm in thicknesses from 4 to 50mm.
Coffee or Blonde (natural) colour.

They are available in full sheets that are raw (fine sanded) and then cut down to size by Toolies based on your specific needs.
How they are made
The sheets are manufactured from multi layered bamboo strips with each individual layer cross bonded to produce a solid (heavy duty) sheet. This method of construction offers a board that is superior to other similar products in the market place.
Once processed all strips are naturally and kiln dried prior to gluing and pressing into sheets that are eventually multi layered to a specified thickness.
